Just another day

| Oct. 7th, 2009 09:02 am Howdy everyone.
Don't need Tweak purging me because I've been busier than a one legged man in an ass kickin' contest this yeat. Thanks.
Oh yeah, Hols is getting worked on so it hasn't been abandoned. 5 comments - Leave a comment

| Jul. 13th, 2009 02:22 pm Sneak Attack! Hello everyone. Yes, it's another chapter of Hols up... lol. The next how ever many will be short and sweet, but coming hopefully on a weekly basis.
Thank you for all the well wishes on my last post, yes, I know I'm a sh*t for not responding to each reply directly. I'm horrid and I know it.
Anyhow, hugs to all and happy reading!

| Jul. 6th, 2009 03:21 pm It came from the depths.... Okay, show of hands for all those that thought I'd fallen off of the face of the planet!
Sorry it's been forever and a day, but a lot has happened, some of you know the deal, others don't. Either way, I'm back and still writing.
I've just posted the latest chapter of Hols on TSS and HPFandom, for some reason, AFF won't let me log in, so it's not there.
Sending loads of hugs to everyone and reassurances that I'm not dead or in Guam hiding in a cave.

| Aug. 26th, 2008 11:01 am Yes, I Am Alive Howdy everyone. Nope, I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth... yet. I've got a new job at the state mental hospital on nights and I have like crazy amounts of overtime. Other than the crazy job (go figure, it's a mental hospital) everything is going alright here on the farm.
For those of you that follow Hols, it was just updated this morning. It hasn't been abandoned, I've just got insane hours and the habits of a bat now.
Let's see... new things going on...
1. The job. It's cool, I like what I do. Gives me a sense of doing something worthwhile, pays pretty good and has awesome bennies!
2. I have chickens! We built a nice coop and covered run back in May and I bought 15 hens and a couple of roos the first of June. Got to love the uber fresh eggs everyday.
3. With all the rain and fairly mild weather, my gardens have been going nuts! I've been canning up a storm. My youngest has figured out that you can make jelly out of soda pop and her want list seems to be endless.
4. My oldest is working for the state hospital as well, which is cool. She and her gf are living with us until she saves enough money to buy her own place. It's crowded, but I'm glad to have her here so I know she's okay. This economy scares the hell out of me and I want to know my kids have what they need.
It's time for me to crawl into my coffin so I can get some sleep before I go in to work tonight. I hope everyone is doing alright and I've not forgot anyone or the story. Hugs for all.

| Dec. 22nd, 2007 06:59 pm Update! Hello everyone. Yes, it's been forever and then some, but there is finally an update for Hols. With my hours I have only a few hours a week to write so things are taking much longer, but nothing has been abandoned, I promise. For those of you that read Stirs, there will be some new pieces added soon as well. If anyone reads at hpfandom, please use the following link: http://www.hpfandom.net/eff/viewstory.php?sid=24684&i=1 .
Everyone please have a safe and happy holiday no matter what you celebrate or don't celebrate. Hugs and kisses from me.

| Dec. 8th, 2007 03:02 pm Hello hello Good morning everyone! My silly self was up at 5.00 am this morning (slept late!) LOL. Just wanted to drop a note and let everyone know what's going on in case anyone cares.
Last night was the Holiday party for where I work. A good menu; prime rib and chicken cordon bleu. Unfortunately I can't eat either. As I was sitting there with my husband while he was eating, a waitperson walks up to me and places a plate of lobster tails in front of me. You could have bowled me over with a feather. My supervisor had remembered me saying something about not being able to eat beef and being afraid to eat meat in public because it might get sick. At work he watches me eat shrimp and things like that day after day so he decided that lobster would make a nice meal for me.
I really like my job, I like the early hours, I like most of the people I work with and I like the company. They really seem to give a crap about their people. When I received my first check, they'd paid me for the week I'd had to wait to get my security badge so I could work at the nuclear plant. I did nothing but sit here and play on the computer and they paid me for a full week. Damn.
As to Hols. Well we have the next chapter finished, but the ending's a cliffie and I don't want to send it out without having the chapter following hot on it's heels. Hopefully when I get home today, Angel and I can get things finished up on it this weekend. I promised my youngest to go shopping at the mall a few towns away and to see The Golden Compass.
So anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well and I miss everyone. If you all are in the path of the same ice storm we're supposed to be getting this weekend, please stay safe.
Hugs until later Kel 1 comment - Leave a comment

| Nov. 29th, 2007 02:51 pm An update on my very boring life.... It's not quite as sedate as it was a few weeks ago. Over the past couple of weeks, I made the decision to go back to work and applied at the local nuclear plant. After filling out mountains of paperwork, psych tests, fingerprinting, criminal background checks, personal references (sorry Angel for putting you down. I didn't know what a pain they'd be), eye scans, physical, pee test, breathilyzer, and all sorts of other crap I got the job and the security clearances to work at the nuclear plant.
So now instead of being able to sleep like a normal person and wake up at a normal hour, I have to be up at 3.45 in the freaking morning, Monday through Friday. I have no idea how this is going to affect my writing, other than I just won't have the time to write like I did through the week. I'm going to bed about 8.00 at night and that doesn't leave much time for writing and my family.... BIG SIGH.
On another note. I am officially one year out from my gastric bypass surgery as of the 28th of November. I'm doing awesome as far as I know. My mobility just amazes me now. I kid you not, I walk 7 miles a day just at work and nothing really hurts and I don't get out of breath! Now I'm looking forward to my plastic surgery and getting the extra skin removed in the coming year.
Now between work and the upcoming holiday, I'm stressed and hoping like hell the next chapter of Hols will be out before Christmas. It should be. We had the chapter written and have sort of scrapped it to rewrite a different one...
Anyhow, everyone take care and be careful while out and about. 3 comments - Leave a comment

| Oct. 31st, 2007 08:02 am Life and Update First of all, the next chapter of Hols is up.
Secondly, thank you to everyone that sent well wishes for my Mom. She's doing well. Things seem to be calming down a little bit around here... for now. With the holidays coming up quick who knows what's going to happen tomorrow.
I've been asked to do a pic spam and I promise I will. I finally bought batteries for my camera and I'm ready to go out and start taking some pics. I would have sooner, but I've had the creeping crud the past few days and just ick.
My youngest daughter's last soccer games were last night. They played their championship games and came in second in their division. Not too shabby in my opinion. They played damned hard and injured more on the opposing team than what happened to them. 1 comment - Leave a comment

| Oct. 8th, 2007 10:41 am Hello hello Howdy howdy all!
Thank you to everyone that's expressed concern over my Mom. She's having her carotid arteries unclogged. Her doctor says it's routine, but it still makes me nervous.
The newest chapter of Hols has just been updated to adultfanfiction.net, hpfandom.net, and thesilversnitch.net. We hope you all enjoy!
Have a great day!

| Oct. 5th, 2007 11:40 am What's happening in my world... Howdy howdy. Just thought I'd drop an update on what's going out here on the farm since I'm sitting here and trying to relax a minute.
First thing. There may be a lengthy pause in the next few chapters of Hols coming up. My Mom is having surgery and I need to be around for her. We are currently working on the next chapter and hopefully it'll be out before she goes in and maybe part of the next one done as well. Writing is therapy for me, so I don't look at it like a chore, but I did want people to have a heads up.
Second. The youngest is doing well with soccer. There have been a few games rained out, but that's what happens around here in the fall. Otherwise, she's doing great.
Third. The oldest is doing well. Told her boss to blow it out of her ass since he's dicking her around. Go Oldest!
Fourth. Looks like the Hub is going to go to school to get his Class A CDL license soon, so that's good. I'm excited for him and the fact there will be QUIET in this house... LOL.
Fifth. Finances suck, but working on them.
Sixth. Someone decided to gift us with kittens this morning while I was out. Apparently our farm has become a drop zone for unwanted animals. Oh yay! Welcome to the farm Damon and Gracie.
Seventh. Was up at the ass crack of dawn to get the youngest on her way and then I went to do battle in town. One of the local markets is having a HUGE meat sale today for 12 hours only. So I managed to pick up close to $350 dollars worth of meat for $55. Had to package it all up and cook some of it up for the freezer when I got home. There's currently 10 pounds of chicken simmering on the stove for stock and chicken meat for casseroles. I'm debating on whether or not to make another run to the store and stock up. We have a good sized freezer and a lot of mouths.
Eigth. Are you tired of reading yet? I have discovered the Sims and have been busily recreating my little universe! I hate video games, but this is fun.
Alright, I figure I've nattered on enough about nothing. Everyone have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

| Sep. 21st, 2007 07:11 pm Some RL stuff Howdy howdy. It was pointed out to me that I haven't updated about my life lately. *smirks* You asked for it.
It has been incredibly busy actually, which is cool for me, considering that this time last year I didn't leave my house that much and needed a wheelchair for damn near anything.
My oldest is still living with us with her s/o, but it's going better than the last time. Both are working and they have their own car so I don't have to be a taxi to them.
The youngest is doing great, loving the second grade and is playing soccer now. Her first game is tomorrow morning at 8.30 in the freaking morning. I want a few words with the sadist that made the schedule up. She took a dead on hit to the face last night at practice when someone kicked the ball at her head. Didn't phase her though, she shook it off and ran his little butt into the ground and has made him pay for it all day today in class... grins.
My weight loss seems to be going alright. I saw my surgeon a couple of weeks ago and I was down 211 pounds at that point. I never in my wildest dreams thought that the surgery could work that well for me. Am I still fat? Yeah... lol, I am, but I don't look like a land Shamu any more. I feel 1000 times better than I did. I don't remember the last time I got out of breath doing anything, which is awesome. I used to get horribly out of breath just going to get the phone.
I've had a few ups and downs with the surgery, namely a couple of strictures, adhesions, and a hernia that had to be repaired, but nothing I can't deal with.
If anyone is wondering what you eat after you get your stomach stapled, the answer for me is not a whole lot. I don't eat much beef, pork, or fish, but I eat chicken and other poultry pretty good. I don't touch sugar, but I really don't miss it at all (never thought I'd say that!). I eat a lot of salads simply because they work well for me. Oh, and I'll eat the hell out of watermelon if someone puts a good one near me... lol.
Before surgery I was all worried that I'd be hungry all the time and miss eating. Honestly it couldn't be further from the truth. I'm rarely hungry, people have to get after me to eat (winks at Angel)and I don't miss eating all the junk I used to. It really seems like they did surgery on my brain too and I'm not complaining in the least!
Do I still eat junk food? Oh yeah, but different junk foods now. Like right now I'm snacking on Ritz peanut butter cracker things. I don't look at the surgery as 'oh you can't eat that or you'll go to gastric bypass hell', but rather, 'okay, if you want that, eat a little bit, it's all you need and you won't make yourself sick.' So other than sugar or really fatty, greasy foods, I eat whatever I want as long as it doesn't make me puke. Good philosphy I think and I'm pretty sure I misspelled that... LOL.
Well I'm certain I've bored you all so I'm going to end this now. Everyone have a wonderful weekend and 'Go #9!' (that's my kid... lol)

| Sep. 5th, 2007 03:45 pm Update on Hols There is a new chapter of HSSHSH up at hpfandom, aff, and the silversnitch. I do apologize for the fact it's taken so long to update, but RL has been a bitch as of late. As for me, I've got a dreaded summer cold, so I'm going to go soak my head or something and hope I feel better soon.
